I don't know if you noticed, I but I've refused to post until you post. I give in!

i have been extremely studious the past few days. this has been mildly gratifying but mostly depressing because i see out the window, i know that it is beautiful outside and that i could be making myself a very nice sun tan but instead must sit in the rosecrans reading room and write about the hadith. this should cheer me up a bit:
at least the umma will be pale.

in other news. this is my favorite hadith:
Volume 1, Book 6, Number 319:
Narrated Zainab bint Abi Salama:
Um-Salama said, "I got my menses while I was lying with the Prophet under a woolen sheet. So I slipped away, took the clothes for menses and put them on. Allah's Apostle said, 'Have you got your menses?' I replied, 'Yes.' Then he called me and took me with him under the woolen sheet." Um Salama further said, "The Prophet used to kiss me while he was fasting. The Prophet and I used to take the bath of Janaba from a single pot."
